Dr. Daniel Johnson
Practice Owner/Veterinarian
Dr. Johnson was born and raised in Aurora, Utah, on a cattle ranch that he is still involved with today. Growing up around livestock helped shape his strong work ethic and deep appreciation for animal health. He credits his passion for veterinary medicine to the challenge and reward of discovering and solving problems — a skill he uses every day to care for his patients.
Dr. Johnson began his education at Snow College before transferring to Utah State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science. He then went on to study veterinary medicine at Washington State University, graduating in 2009.
His professional interests include orthopedic surgery and internal medicine, and he is dedicated to continually expanding his knowledge to better serve his patients. In 2013, Dr. Johnson proudly purchased Richfield Veterinary Clinic and has since been committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to the community.
When he’s not at the clinic, you can find Dr. Johnson spending time with his wife and five children, playing with his dog Sandy, or cheering on (and chasing after!) his kids at their many weekly activities.

Dr. Matt Hutchinson
Practice Owner/Veterinarian
Dr. Hutchinson was born and raised in Woodruff, Utah, on a cattle ranch where he spent much of his time cleaning horse stalls, putting up hay, and operating a tractor. Growing up immersed in ranch life gave him a strong foundation in animal care and a deep appreciation for hard work.
He discovered his passion for veterinary medicine while taking a college-level science class at Utah Valley University, where he later earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology. Dr. Hutchinson continued his education in veterinary medicine through Utah State University and Washington State University, graduating in 2020.
His professional interests include surgery and internal medicine, and he enjoys the problem-solving and hands-on aspects of veterinary care. After working at the clinic for six years, Dr. Hutchinson proudly bought into the practice in 2026, further deepening his commitment to serving the community and its animals.
When he’s away from the clinic, Dr. Hutchinson enjoys being home with his wife and children, spending time outdoors with his black lab, Kora, and supporting his daughters at their cheerleading events. Much of his free time is happily spent following their busy schedules and making memories together as a family.
Dr. Marcel Lee
Veterinarian
Dr. Marcel Lee was born and raised in the beautiful town of Provo, Utah, where her love for animals began early. Initially majoring in Zoology, Dr. Lee's path took a life-changing turn when she volunteered as an intern at a local veterinary hospital. The hands-on experience, the challenges of the work, and the gratification of helping animals ignited a passion for veterinary medicine. Inspired by the veterinarians and staff she worked alongside, she made the decision to change her major to Pre-Veterinary Medicine and fully commit to becoming a Veterinarian.
After completing her undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University (BYU), Dr. Lee continued her education at Western University of Health Sciences, where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 2011. It was during this time that her passion for animal health deepened, and she developed a particular interest in internal medicine and behavioral cases.
After veterinary school, Dr. Lee married the love of her life, and they decided to return to Utah to be near her aging father. Two years later, they were blessed with the arrival of their daughter, Jessica, who quickly became the light of their lives. As a family, they embraced the small-town charm of Richfield, Utah, drawn to its close-knit community and the sense of belonging it offered.
Dr. Lee is passionate about working closely with both animals and their families, and did continuing education to become Fear Free Certified. However, what truly fuels her work is being a voice for the voiceless—helping pets live their healthiest lives while building strong, trusting relationships with the families who love them.
Outside of her work, Dr. Lee enjoys spending quality time with her family, exploring and spending time in the outdoors, and giving back to the community that has embraced them so warmly. Her devotion to her family, her profession, and the animals she serves continues to shape her practice as she works every day to make a difference in the lives of pets and their people.
